Genuine Namasté - Insights from the Dance Floor

Connecting with others in dance is just a richer experience than solo dancing.

I was dancing with you.

There were several prolonged moments

of mutual eye contact.

Gazing,

meeting...

in dynamic polarity.

Both of us fully showing up;

in a pause,

each in our power.

Each liking how we were were feeling.

‘Meeting’ across the divide…the gap.

Seeing each other with respect.

It was like a meeting between our Enlightened Spirits.

Intimacy with Autonomy.

Relating....

It’s not even about trusting the ‘other’.

It’s about standing in one’s own power.

Seeing another in their power.

And being seen in yours.

Simultaneously.

Allowing everything,

Needing nothing.

Being everything,

Doing nothing.

Pausing thought...

and being Pure Awareness.

Awareness of Self;

Awareness of the Other.

Awareness of the All-ness.

THIS is the ultimate ‘relating’

I am here, taking myself in;

taking you in.

You are there,

taking yourself in;

taking me in.

Genuine Namasté.

HEALING THE WOUND OF NON-SUPPORT

We must receive support before we can ever give it Many of us were born and raised in homes where we did not receive the support we really needed in order to feel safe, seen, grounded, and valued. For whatever reasons, our parents and families and perhaps even our communities were unable to give us enough responsive attention for us to anchor a feeling of being empowered and supported into our Beings. Because we did not receive this support for our very Being, our essence, we came to distrust ourselves and those around us. We became unable to receive support, even when it was sincerely offered.
